A combined mining asset dataset
By Global Mining Dataset
We've changed how the dataset brings together information from different sources. Where the evidence supports a match, related records now contribute to a common published asset.
The same mine or project can appear under several names, with different coordinates or slightly different commodity information. Bringing that evidence together makes the asset easier to find and compare, while retaining the records used to construct it.
Supporting names, geometries and source information remain linked to the asset. You can use the standardised fields for screening and still review where the information came from.
This work also supports the new MRDS and global mining polygon integrations. We've described the approach in Understanding the Asset Universe, with coverage details in Data sources.
